Canfield Solitaire Type Games
Canfield Solitaire type games are known for their fast pace, strategic gameplay, and challenging setup.
One of the key features of Canfield Solitaire type games is the reserve pile. Typically, 13 cards are dealt face down into a reserve, and only the top card is available for play. This adds an extra layer of challenge, as you must think carefully about when and how to use these limited cards.
Another common feature in Canfield Solitaire type games is the way the foundation piles are built. In many of these games, the foundations don’t start with Aces — instead, a random card is dealt to begin the first foundation, and the others must be built up in suit from that same rank, wrapping from King back to Ace if needed. For example, if the foundation starts with a 7, you would build 8, 9, ..., King, Ace, 2, and so on. However, this rule doesn't apply to all Canfield-type games — some variants may start with Aces or follow different foundation-building rules.
