Cruel Solitaire is an addictive card game with simple rules and addictive gameplay. It was originally published by Microsoft as part of the "Windows Entertainment Pack #1" and it quickly became one of the popular solitaire game variations.
BVS Solitaire Collection 9.0.0.2 for Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, and XP is an award-winning collection of 570 solitaire card games. It includes Cruel Solitaire and all the other old-time favorites.
Cruel Solitaire uses 52 cards. Aces are removed from the deck to form 4 foundations. The whole deck is dealt face up into 12 piles with 4 cards in each pile.

The rules
Top cards in tableau piles are available to play. You may build tableau piles down in suit. Only one card at a time can be moved. If you move all cards from a tableau pile it cannot be resumed.
When you have made all the moves initially available, click on the empty stock pile to restack the cards. During restacking all the remaining cards are first gathered together and dealt out onto the tableaus with 4 cards in each. Gathering and restacking doesn't change the order of the cards in the piles. If no moves are made, restacking reproduces the last deal. The process of restacking continues until either all cards are built up on foundations, or there are no more moves possible.
