Steeplechase Solitaire uses 104 cards (2 decks). You have an "obstacle" - reserve pile with 13 cards. The next card dealt is placed above the obstacle as the starter card of the foundations. The 7 other cards of the same rank will be placed next to it during play as soon as they become available. Lastly, 8 cards are placed below the "obstacle" to form the top cards of the tableau piles.

The object of the game
To build the foundations up in alternate colors until each pile contains thirteen cards.

The rules
Only the top card of each pile is available for play. You may build tableau piles down in sequence and alternating color. When building, you can move either a single card or a set of cards.

When you have made all the moves initially available, begin turning over cards from stock. You can move cards from stock pile to the tableau piles and to the foundations according to the rules above.

When any tableaus are empty you can fill the space with any card or set of cards from the tableaus, - but not from the reserve pile. The cards from the reserve pile can be moved to the Foundations only.

Tip: You can move cards from the foundations back to the tableaus, if that helps you to win.

There is no redeal.
