Selective Canfield Solitaire uses 52 cards (1 deck).

13 cards are counted out from the deck of 52 cards. This is the reserve pile. The top card is face up.

At the start of the game a row of 5 cards is dealt face up. To start the game you have to choose the rank of your foundations. To do this just place your selected card on any foundation pile. The 4 other cards form the tableaus.

The object of the game
To build the foundations up in suit until each pile contains thirteen cards.

The rules
You can fill up foundation suits using the top card of the reserve and tableau piles. You can move cards from one tableau pile to another and from reserve pile to a tableau pile. The rule is as follows: you should place cards in the order of highest to lowest, alternating suit colors. You can move either a single card or a set of cards. When one tableaus is empty it is immediately filled up with a card from the reserve pile.

When you have made all the moves initially available, begin turning over cards from stock. Three cards at a time are turned over from the stock pile. You can move cards from the stock pile to the tableau piles and to the foundations according to the rules above. You can turn over the stock pile as many times as you wish.
